It was great to get our summer party arranged for 2017. We had a change of tactics this year - the plan was to go ahead with it whether windy or not; but thankfully we were blessed with wind on the Saturday, and enough for some very big kites on the Sunday. Local pro rider Jack Daykin was on hand to give tricks and tips, and it was great to have a camp out overlooking our glorius Budle Bay.
Over the past few years we've been keen to attend the awesome events hosted by the SOL crew. We offered subsidies for club members and was great to let people try out the significant fleet of demo gear. Everyone who attended had a great time on and off the water!
Hot on the heels of the AGM, we had our bi-annual beach clean. We were very glad to see that the beach was very lightly littered, with most of the hard work being done the previous Autumn.
As April rolled around again, and thoughts started for the new season it was time once more for our regular outing to Pizza Hut for our AGM. We had a little turnover in our committee, and it was great to get those places filled for the coming year.
After much debate on where to go, we decided upon some serious meat-eating at the new longhorns restaurant in Jesmond. It was a nice opportunity to sit down at the end of the Summer season.
October brought about our now-regular bi-annual Beadnell beach clean. After all the visitors over the summer there was a considerable amount of work to be done; but everone took to the task well with smiles and good humour.
Big thanks to Sally for organising it.
Our Regional SAS rep and events officer organised another beach clean with the help of some Bednell locals, and bolstered by club members. In truth there wasn't much to do after the previous Autumn clean and not a great deal of beach use over the winter!
April brought about our regular outing to Pizza Hut for our AGM. It was well attended with a total of 12 attendees and we went about or regular business of discussing all club matters,
A hardy bunch of us braved the weather to install the weather station this morning, and I'm pleased to announce she's fully operational now.
A big thank you to David for his awesome effort in securing the site for it, and also to Aaron, Andrew, David and Sally for helping get it installed today. I hope you all find it comes in handy over the coming months
After a long search for a suitable site for a weather station, we have finally secured a location at the Seahouses Golf Club, with clean wind from the West through the South, right around to the North East.
We're looking forward to getting it installed in the forthcoming weeks :)
What we've been up to recently!
