Restrictions

The following beaches have restrictions in place so please consult the maps on this site and observe these at the appropriate times:

Budle Bay - Watersport Zone in place from April 1st to October 31st. From November 1st to March 31st all areas of the bay are closed to all watersports.

Druridge Bay - No kiting zone in place near main beach access all year round.

Blyth Beach - There are no restrictions here, but kitesurfing generally takes place near the Seaton Sluice end of the bay.

Kiting is banned all year round from the following beaches:

Whitley Bay & Cullercoats
Unsuitable for kiting due to the popularity of the beach for visitors, the concrete seawall and a number of reefs and partially submerged hazards. Nearest Kitesurfing beach is Blyth

St. Mary's Haven, Low Newton
Owned by the National Trust, has a number of boats moored in the bay.
Nearest Kitesurfing beach is Beadnell or Embleton.
